I am so lucky to be blessed with such amazing parents. My mom and dad are my everything! They are the 2 people I know I can always turn to without question; whether it be to bail me out of a bad situation, give me advice or just be a shoulder to cry on. When I think back as child... I never thought I would enjoy spending my Saturdays with them on the golf course or choosing them as the couple to join Jason and I for dinner. I never thought my parents would be my best friends. Thank you for the support and everything you have given me in life!
I love you both more than you will ever know!
When I think about my parents the one word that comes to mind is sacrifice. Growing up I knew God had blessed me with special parents. As an adult looking back, I've realized I have the greatest parents. They have always shown me, my brother and sister unconditional love. They made sure we never went without. Somehow they were able to juggle 3 kids who were actively involved with every sport you could think of. I seriously have no idea how they were able to do it. I can't remember a single time they complained about having to drive us all over the planet. Somehow among all the madness, they still made sure we'd have family dinner at the table every night. We started every meal thanking God for all of our blessings. That's something we still do as a family to this day. They are God fearing and care more about helping those that are less fortunate than worrying about themselves. The have left a lasting impact on myself, my brother and sister... that's for sure! What's even more impressive are the thousands of people they've impacted over the last 40 years of their ministry. They probably have no idea how many lives they have touched thorugh their generosity. I love them both more than they know and I am so thankful and excited to share this special day with them.
My older sister, Kristen is so talented. She was a great athlete, very smart and to this day I am pretty sure she has never done anything wrong in her life. Growing up, my parents would try to teach us right from wrong and I’ve always admired how she just got it, which is very different from my brother and me. She is a grateful wife and has 4 great kids, 3 boys and a girl. She runs a tight ship and always puts her kids first. I am so proud of what a wonderful person and mother she has become. I love you sis!
My younger brother, Stephen is one of my best friends. We grew up like most brothers do, very competitive and excelled at every sport we competed in. He has grown up to be a great father and husband, as well as an accomplished contractor. If anyone needs work done, big or small… you should hit him up! LOL! I am so blessed he lives in Atlanta and we are able to hang out all the time. I can’t wait to share this special day with you and your beautiful wife, Aimee. I love you brother!
My son Dominic is such a good boy. He is growing into his own, turning 13 this year. He’s incredible at karate, loves his friends and like most teenage boys…loves playing his video games. He is so smart and has such a good soul. I am so lucky to be his father! Dad loves you very much!
Peyton, my youngest, is incredibly gifted. She is smart and beautiful with a big personality. She has excelled in school, all while juggling her career in acting/modeling. Peyton has had the opportunity to work on some pretty large projects; like commercials for Belk, AT&T and Direct TV. I have no doubt in my mind that this is only the beginning for her. She is daddy’s little girl and I love her to the moon and back.
Love you Pey Pey!
Jason and I had planned a weekend trip to Chattanooga to visit his dad on Father's Day … or so I thought!!!
We had planned to hike Sunset Rock that morning, before meeting up with his parents. As a child, Jason and his friends use to rappel off the cliffs and he wanted to show me how amazing the view was from up there. We finally reached Sunset Rock and were sitting on one of the cliffs overlooking the city when he pulled out a small box. I started to think this was it! However, when I opened the box, it was a necklace with a charm in the shape of an envelope. He proceeded to tell me… he was top salesman for the month and was able to choose from several different items. He thought this necklace was appropriate since he creates mailers for work. I was so disappointed but still tried to show my appreciation. He put the necklace on me and told me to open the envelope. When I did, a tiny charm fell out that said "MARRY ME!" When I looked up, he was on one knee. I was in such shock that he had to say, "Well, will you?" Of course, I said "YES."
The adventure continued….when later that day Jason and I were standing on the Walnut Street Bridge waiting to meet up with his parents, when to my surprise I see both his parents AND MINE walking towards us on the boardwalk. I was so ecstatic to have both families there to celebrate with us. It was the perfect end to an amazing day, as we sailed down the Tennessee River at sunset.
As if the weekend wasn’t already amazing enough….. We closed it out with a hot air balloon ride over Chattanooga at sunset.
Its a weekend I will never forget!
I met Jason 12 years ago and we became really good friends. He was someone I could always talk to or call if I needed help. I had secretly always had a crush on him but we always remained friends. Four years ago, we both found ourselves single and decided to finally go out on a date and have been together ever since. He is my best friend, the one I laugh with, live for and love with all my heart. I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with him.
What can I say..... Megan pretty much summed it up!
